I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Iowa, researching Engineering Education with a focus on metacognition and deliberate practice.

Unlike a traditional academic path, my research is grounded in 25+ years of industry leadership. Before returning to academia, I architected complex systems for organizations like Lockheed Martin and ThingMagic.

I view the classroom as a collaborative partnership: I hold students to high standards, but I hold myself to an equally high standard of support, ensuring that education is a shared effort rather than a transaction.

I am bridging the gap between industry and academia, using my background in software development to build tools (like the Deliberate Practice Engine) that help the next generation of engineers learn more effectively.
